THE DEFLOOFIFICATION OF DANTE!

Misha was kind enough to leave a comment on Dante's blog yesterday and this is what he said:  "You mean to say he's usually floofier than this? That's impossible!"

Well, my boy, I take that as a challenge, and here's the proof to back me up:

Et voila!

How many of you can tell the difference?

Dante's not finished shedding yet, of course, and will look much sleeker the closer we get to spring.  The fur around his face, neck and mane thins out considerably.  Mind you, he still looks quite floofy, but he's nowhere near his "floofus maximus" that occurs from early fall through mid-to-late winter.

Ah, I just loves me a challenge!!!  What you got to say now, Misha?

  1. Dante--I think you are a floof ball no matter what but I can see that you aren't at max right now!

  3. Even on my short coated Cornish Rex, I have had a judge tell me they could feel the difference between Bo's summer and winter coats...though visually he looked the same. I like the before and after pix of Dante!

  6. "floofus maximus" -- I love it!

I would see it more with Chumley, who had a very long and thick coat, though not quite up to Dante's standards! Even my Annie, with her long, fine fur, floofs up for winter. She can look quite boofy, really. Twice her size when she's outside in the cold. LOL. Dante's fur is impressive and I'm sure takes a LOT of grooming to keep up. I hope he enjoys it! I used to take Chum to the groomer a few times a year and have him shaved, because he'd mat up so badly and wasn't good about being brushed.

  9. Ah. That must mean that spring is on it's way. Dante is an excellent weatherman.

Pst: Photoguy doesn't really crawl around, he just keeps the camera very low on the ground (now his secret is out).

  12. Very cool before and after pictures. I liked the sun shimmering from behind his coat showing a great measure of difference. Nice!

  13. Our bean dreads season changes because we'll leave globs of fur all over the place and generally make being our keeper much more difficult! Our bean still wants to pick you up and hug you - and I know I'd appreciate the break from the cuddles! She gets kinda carried away...
