DANTE AS GARDEN ORNAMENT

One of Dante's primary responsibilities in summer (or any season for that matter) was to adorn the landscape.

 Here he is imitating the green garden cat beside him.


And here I zoom in for a close-up.  There's no imitating that!

    Dante was the most beautiful part of the landscape.
