"Hi, my name is Chris an' I'm comin' to a place near you on DecemBRR 25th!"

When the sun is shining brightly, Dante stands out against any background.

The drab late-autumn surroundings only serve as a counterpoint to his bright orange fur.

But then -- when the sun is not so bright, Dante almost blends into his surroundings.

The colour of his mane and underbelly coat are much paler.

This softness is infused with the bright orange facial stripes that define him as a tabby.

He is truly a picture in contrasts.  N'est-ce-PAW?

So, Dante is finally ready to reveal how he gets so down and dirty.

 "Imma DIRTEH DANCAH, acoarse!"

"Shake dat booteh ... shake dat booteh!"

Normally Dante is anything but background because he can't help but stand out.  However, yesterday I took this wonderful image of him which is currently serving as the latest background picture on my computer.  So, I thought I would share with all of you, of course.

(Biggify for full impact)

"I am a verreh groundid pussycat, as you kin clearly see", says Dante.

As promised earlier this week, here is the second part of Dante posing on deck.  He has tried to lick his mass of fur into shape which has left wet curly tendrils here and there.

Dante in profile is magnificent to behold!

He has that strong Maine Coon chin and muzzle that make him so striking.

Here Dante's winter coat is on full display drying out in the crisp fall air.

His undercoat is even heavier than his overcoat!

And unlike your car, Dante definitely doesn't require an anti-rust coating -- he'd like to keep his coat of rust, thank you very much.

So until next time ...

Au revoir mes amis!

With the weather getting colder, it's harder and harder to convince Dante that he should go outside.  Even with his thick fur coat, he's a wimp when the temPURRature dips.

So, I managed to take a series of pictures of Dante sitting on, near or around the deck.   There were quite a few, so here is just the first sampling.

Dante is a swirl of orange hues.

Even his back end is different shades from light to dark.

Dante seems to have 'twigged' to something!

Here's Dante as a postcard.  "Wish yoo wuz heer!", says he.

Dante is still peaches and cream, while all around him has turned to brown.

Maybe we should press some of that awesome fur of his, too!  The curls and waves on his massive mane are the result of his most recent bath.  He always has a wash after breakfast.

Dante ponders what still is to come.  Before you know it all the brown will be turned upside down under a blanket of white.

"To be continued ..."
