EARS TO DANTE!

Let's hear it for Dante!  His ears are quite special indeed.

Here is a description of Maine Coon ears which I found on the internet:

"One of the defining characteristics of the Maine Coon's appearance is the ear tufts, the hair that grows from the tips of the ear flaps (the outer ear). They are called "lynx tips" and are used to communicate.

Of all domestic cats, the Maine Coon has the most prominent ear tufts. They are enshrined in the breed standard:  Ears: Large, tall, wide at base, tapering to appear pointed, with lynx-like tipping and inner tufts extending beyond the outer edge of the ears. They are set high on the head, the distance between them being equal to the width of an ear at its base."

And this is what Dante has to say about his ears.

"Will yoo stop talkin' 'bout me?  Ouch -- my ears is burnin'!"

"Now I is so angry, I has steam comin' outta my ears!"

 "OK, dat's enuff -- I've had it up to ear!"

 "Whew!  Finally, I kin confirm -- dere's absolootly nuffin between MY ears!

"Yoo got sumfin else to say?  I'm all ears!" 

"Yoo finks I'm green?  OK, I admits it -- I'm still wet behine da ears!"

 "Good fing my ears is drip dry!"

"But why is my ears still ringin'?"

"At least dis time is MEWSic to my ears!"

DANTE DOWN UNDER

Dante is under the bench in the front garden.

"In my life I has come to a great undah standing", says he.

"Even doe, at da moment, I is lyin' down."

"If yoo wait, it will come!"

DANTE: POSTER BOY!

Damn, it's hard to take a bad picture of that boy!  He must be one of the most FURtogenic cats in history.
My problem is that I have altogether too many pictures of Dante and it's hard to choose which ones should be posted in his blog.

As you can see from this latest photoshoot, Dante faces life (and the camera) head on.  I couldn't ask for a better subject when it comes to still life FURtography.  A subtle shift gives a whole new uniqueness to each shot.

Dante's pictures are almost like fingerprints (or in his case, pawprints).

 No one is exactly like another ...

... and sometimes that's a good thing!

DANTE: KITTY ZEN OF THE WORLD!

Dante is in the garden ...

 ... paying homage to the Kitty Buddhas and feeling rather zen.

 There are three of them sitting on their own tiny bench.  They radiate a sense of peace and tranquility.

 With a Kitty Buddha boost and a little meditation of his own, Dante is transported from the garden itself ...

... to even more pastoral settings!

 One moment he's in strawberry fields ...

 ... and the next, he's waist-deep in dandelions!

There's nothing quite like mellowing out in an idyllic meadow ... 

... from the comfort of your own front yard!

"Ooooom a Kitty Zen of the World", says Dante.

 "Mind trips is always FURst class, an' ...

"...nuttin' beats da in-flite dinnah service!"

DANTE IN THE WILD!

Dante is looking very leonine in the greenery of our neighbour's front yard.  With the help of some nature-inspired frames, he has been transported to the wilds.

And here are three for the PURRice of one!

 This is Dante in the wilds of cottage country somewhere here in Ontario.

 This is Dante in the wilds of Northern Ireland's lush green grasses.

And even farther 'afield' is Dante in the wilds of an African jungle.

O what an uproar he makes!
