We had a little setback with a fresh dump of snow a couple of days ago, but now it is melting again.  The patio chairs are clear of the white stuff, so Dante decided to take it easy out there and monitor the progress of the thaw.  Of course, he would much rather have a tuna melt, but melted snow is good, too, especially since it's due to warmer weather.

So here is what he thaw:

"Dis is me lookin' at yoo, lookin' at me!", says Dante.

"Dere is still snow on da table but da chair is nice an' dry."

"An' I kin heer watah drippin' off da trees!"

"It goes drip ... drip ... drip ...

... it's da sound of Mudder Naychur drip-dryin' herself!"

"Of course mai purrsonal preference is to fluff-dry .. but dat's cuz I'm fluffy."

"Efurrywhere I look, dere's meltin' goin' on."

"I has a HUNCH dat Spurring is ...

... jus' around da cornah!"

"So no one, not efun Mudder Naychur, kin Spurring a surprise on me -- cuz I kin see it comin' frum a mile away.  Or at leest frum mai back yard!"

Here Dante is posing resolutely beside one of the urns on the front porch steps.  The juxtaposition of the two seems to reinforce the iron in each of them.

Yes, the expression on Dante's face is very URNest indeed.  Rather IRONic isn't it?

It's Sunday and Dante decided to go outside for a breath of FUResh air.  The temPURRatures have been warmer lately and all of the snow on the deck benches has melted away.  Despite this, Dante is all set to chill out.

(Biggify for the awe factor!)

Dante can finally breathe easy as he detects the subtle scent of sPURRing.  There are other sure signs that the seasons are changing, too ...

(Biggify for close-up cuteness)
... like when your little furry FURiends come out to play.

Yup!  From hereon in there's going to be a whole lot more easy pickings.  So follow Dante's example  -- relax and breathe easy.  SPURRing is in the air!

Today Dante is out back singing a song adapted from that classic song written by B.J. Thomas titled "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" (from the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid").

"Snowflakes keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his sled
Nothin' seems to fit
Those snowflakes are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job

Those snowflakes are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know

The snow they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till Spring steps up to greet me

Snowflakes keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red

Cryin's not for me

'Cause I'm never gonna stop the snow by complainin'

... Because I'm free

Nothin's worryin' me!"

Dante's in the pink and wishes the same for you this Valentine's Day and all year long.  He sends you his heartfelt sentiments because he loves each and every one of you.

For once we find Dante at home inside where it's warm and cozy.  There's no better place to relax on a Sunday morning than on top of the cat tree in the family room.

"It's me -- Dante!  Welcome to my house."

"C'mon in and have a seat."

"An' now we can all just hang out together ...

"... an' look at da seenery."

"Dey calls it SEEnery becuz yoo kin SEE it all around yoo!"

"It shur has bin nice chattin' with yoo ...

... but now I'm gettin' kinda sleepy."

"After all it is Sunday and Sunday is good for ...

... SNOOZIN'!"

Dante is snow stranger to the cold.  It doesn't bother him one little bit.  After all, this is the Maine Coon's natural environment.  They are built for winter weather.

And that's the end of this tail!

It's Thursday and Dante is taking you out in the front garden to show you exactly what we have been up against lately.

He is wearing his new birthday sweater, not only because it's warm, but because it's very stylish and suits him so well.

As you can see the whole garden and walkway have been buried in layers of snow.

For some fun in the sun, Dante makes a shadow lion ...

... before proceeding further into bush country.

(Biggify for full effect)
Sadly, the bushes are barren of any signs of life amid a panoply of sparkling white that goes on and on,  seemingly forever.

"Dis is da spot in da gardin ware I yooshully duz mai bizness", says Dante.

"But undaneeth da powdah snow, dere is a hawd layah of ice!

Oh, by da way, didja notice Mama's fake evahgreen trees in da pots on da porch?  PURRsonally, I is nawt a fan of da fake stuff."

As Dante surveys the frozen landscape he realizes ...

... there is really little point in going on.

So he returns to the bench which is thankfully clear of snow and ice ...

... to get some sun.
"I hopes I doan gets any tan lines becuz of dis sweatah", he says.

After catching enough rays, Dante heads back to the front porch.
"Yoo shud nevah overdoos it!", says he.

I asked Dante if he would show off his new sweater in greater detail, so he posed for me in the basket chair.

Here you can better see its vibrant colours of red, green and gold which are so complementary to Dante's rusty fur.  The embroidered snowflake makes a nice touch, don't you think?

So with a final flourish to this 'Snow Show', Dante bids you all a fond farewell.  He, like you, is really looking forward to Spring!

However, did you know today is Groundhog's Day?  And the sun is shining?

O snoes!
