DANTE AT CHRISTMAS: FOR THE BIRDS

This picture was taken in December 2009, and was modified much later by me for the Christmas effect.

Dante was nothing if not generous -- and even more so at Christmas time.  Here he has put out a plate of Christmas cookies for the birds.  He thought they might appreciate some shortbread and gingerbread.  Even birds like a little extra spice at Christmas!  Certainly different from your ordinary, average breadcrumbs.

And what are cookies without ice cream?  He has saved the latter for himself.  I guess this makes him an Ice Cream Coon.

And later that night when Dante is tucked in bed, the birds (replete with cookie crumbs) begin to sing:
"Silent Night
Holy Night
All is calm
All is bright
Round yon tummies
Of birds in the wild
First we looked up, and then you smiled
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace"
